A lot of people are opting for courthouse wedding in San Antonio, and the reason for this can be anything like you may be financially constrained or you want an extremely small wedding or simply because you can’t wait to get married!

Here are some tips that can help you in planning a courthouse wedding in San Antonio.

The Checklist

Here is what you need to start the process:

1. Get a hold of the driver’s license or birth certificate and State IDs.

2. Get the number of your local circuit-court where you will apply for the marriage license/

3. Find the number of a local courthouse.

The Guests

Many courthouses allow a few guests for the ceremony so ask around beforehand. Keep in mind that you will need witnesses to sign the final papers.

The Dress

Girls have so many options to choose from, be it long elegant dresses or little white dresses. Guys too have the option of wearing tuxedos or going casual. Just wear something that makes both of you feel good about yourselves and keeps people around you comfortable.

Flowers

In a courthouse wedding you don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars on flowers. All you have to do is go to the local florist and grab a pretty bouquet.

Decoration

Some of the locations allow you to bring small decorations to decorate the room of the courthouse.  You can ask the authority to give you the room one hour or half an hour before the ceremony. Ask about all this when you go to book the date. Keep in mind that certain things such as rice, confetti, and flower petals are not allowed since it is hard to clean these up. Take the items that can quickly be put up and taken down.

Photographer

Many photographers offer discounts for off season courthouse weddings because it takes much less time than a normal wedding to shoot the couple and their close friends. Ask around if the photographer is allowed in the courthouse. If not, then meet them outside for quick shots or go to some good location for the photographs.

After Party

Decide what kind of after party both of you want. Whether both of you want to go for an expensive dinner alone or if you want to spend time with the family at a nice restaurant or some club.
