Guide to Selecting Outdoor Wedding Venues

For the bride and groom, their wedding day will be one of the greatest occasions of their lives. Many couples want their wedding to be memorable and fun. What better way to celebrate in style than to host your nuptials at an outdoor wedding venue.

Outdoor wedding venues are becoming a lot more popular in the United States, especially in the states with nice climates. Here are some secrets that you should keep in mind when choosing outdoor wedding venues.

The weather is the main concern for all outdoor weddings. When selecting an outdoor wedding venue consider the weather for the location and time of year.

The most popular time of year for outdoor weddings in the summer, but in the southern states, temperatures can reach well over 100 degrees Fahrenheit in some months. During the fall and winter months, the weather is less predictable. For weddings on the East Coast consider that hurricane season runs from June 1 through November 30th. The west coast hurricane season is from May 15th through November 30th. Keep this in mind when selecting a coastal venue and always have a backup plan for inclement weather. Know the season, know the weather, and be prepared for both.

It is not just the inclement weather that can spoil an outdoor wedding but also bugs. Mosquitoes and bugs can spoil even the most carefully planned event. Beaches can get an infestation of sand fleas while backyards or gardens can get flooded with mosquitoes. Some venues may not have a problem until after it rains, driving guests back to the safety of their vehicles. The best thing to do is to discuss your options with the landowner. Some will spray for bugs before the event to protect the guests.

Whether your wedding takes place in a backyard, on a beach or in the woods, an outdoor wedding can capture the excitement and romance perfectly.

Be the first to like.
