What to Consider When Shopping for a CO2 Extraction Kit

With the increasing demand for plant extracts, choosing an extraction kit can be overwhelming without prior knowledge. The market is filled with numerous options with varying capacities, features, and prices. As such, choosing the right extraction kit requires careful consideration of specific factors. In this blog, we will discuss what you need to consider to ensure that you choose the right CO2 extraction kit that suits your unique needs.

Extraction Capacity

The first thing you should consider when shopping for an extraction kit is its capacity. Extraction capacity is the amount of plant materials that can be processed at a given time. Before purchasing a CO2 extraction kit, identify the amount of plant materials you intend to extract to determine the appropriate capacity. A kit with low capacity will require more runs, whereas a kit with high capacity will save time and energy.

Extraction Pressure

Extraction pressure is the amount of force required to extract plant compounds from the source material. The pressure for extraction will vary depending on the plant material. For instance, the extraction pressure for cannabis is different from the extraction pressure for lavender oil. Ensure that the extraction kit you choose has the appropriate extraction pressure for the plant material you intend to extract.

Extraction Efficiency

Another important factor to consider when shopping for a CO2 extraction kit is its efficiency. The efficiency of the extraction kit determines the quality of the final product, as well as the quantity of extracts that can be obtained from the plant material. Before purchasing an extraction kit, research the efficiency of the kit and ensure that it meets your standards.
