How to Choose the Best Off-Campus Housing for Your Next Semester

Even though FSU student apartments offer flexible leasing options, you will still want to choose an apartment where you will feel comfortable. You don’t want to spend your leisure time worrying about getting repairs fixed or finding that the community is unfriendly. By paying attention to how people interact with one another, you can ensure you’ll be moving into a good community with dedicated managers.

Evaluate the Demeanor of the Property Management Staff

As you meet the management staff, pay attention to how they interact with you and with their current tenants. They should seem friendly and outgoing. If they seem bothered or rushed, you can expect this same treatment for as long as you live in the community. An overworked staff may also have trouble keeping up with maintenance requests and other issues.

Look for a Busy Maintenance Staff

You will also want to look for a staff of maintenance workers. Even if there aren’t repairs to be made, the maintenance crew should be taking care of the grounds, replacing exterior lighting, and performing other upkeep tasks. If you don’t see many maintenance workers around, you may have trouble getting repairs completed in your apartment.

Meet the Residents

When you tour FSU student apartments, take the time to introduce yourself to any residents you see walking the property. Ask them about the community amenities, events, and overall culture of the community. This will help you determine if the community will be friendly and active.
